The table top is constructed of old Chestnut boards that have endured many years of use on barns, cabins, mills, and other primitive structures here in the Appalachian Mountains. A blight in the early 1900s wiped out all of the growing stands of Chestnut trees and the wood has become highly prized for furniture.

Because Red Oak matches well with Chestnut, we used new oak for the skirt and legs. This give us a stronger table and bench especially for the turned legs. We age the oak and stain it just right so that it is an exact match with the Chestnut.

Each one of our tables goes through a unique hand-made process. They are extremely sturdy, durable and will last you a lifetime. The table pictured is not the exact table you will be receiving. Your table will meet the same specifications but small details like the wood grain, board width, etc. are different on every table.

Please Note: Shipping dates are only "best guess" estimates and your actual shipping date may vary. We however do promise to build your furniture piece as quickly as possible. Also note that all table and benches are shipped with legs removed. To attach the legs, you will need to insert leg bolts into brackets and tighten nuts onto washers. This should only take about 5 minutes and is very simple.
