The Wood:

-Legs and apron: Solid Oak Hardwood for durability and strength to last lifetimes. Using our own finishing techniques, we "age" the oak legs and apron to match the reclaimed wood top.
-Leg Thickness: 3.5 Inches
-Protective Coats: Low VOC water-based resin and water-repelling furniture wax.
-Table Height: 31 Inches Tall (approx 25-1/2 inches of clearance from floor to bottom of apron)
The History:
A blight in the early 1900s wiped out nearly all of the growing stands of Chestnut trees and the wood was widely used in old barns, mills, general stores, cabins, schoolhouses, and stables across eastern US. As these structures are getting old, the valuable chestnut wood is being harvested and reclaimed to build furniture that passes on the legacy of the American Chestnut Tree.
